Evangelism System Sample Scripts

The gospel of Christ is easy enough for a child to understand. If a concept can be illustrated visually then it becomes even easier to understand yet.  The call of every Christian is to go into all the world and spread the good news of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ.  It should be our great joy to witness to the lost but unfortunately many are reluctant for fear or shyness.  What if there was a way for people to ask you to tell them about Christ without them even realizing that they asked?  Wouldn’t that be so easy?  Now it is!

This system of evangelism  using the EZ Witness tool can be tailored to the demonstrator’s level of confidence.  If, for example, the demonstrator (D) is not comfortable memorizing Scripture then it isn’t really necessary; albeit it is helpful.  Perhaps the demonstrator is not comfortable approaching prospects (P) with the sole intention of evangelism; again it isn’t necessary as the tool only need be visible to a prospect to gain their attention and arouse their curiosity.  Below are sample scripts that could be followed or modified to use the evangelism system tool.

Script #1 (non-Scripture Method)

P:  What is that you have there?

D:  If you have a few minutes I would love to explain it.

P:  Sure, I am curious, go ahead.

D:  Did you know that there is something present in your life that cannot be seen by the eye that can cause you irreparable harm and did you also know that there is something very important missing in your life?

P:  No.  What is it?

D:  The invisible thing is a barrier and it can be dangerous.

P: A barrier to what?

D:  It is a barrier much like this one.  Watch as I move this piece which represents you and I toward the large white area.  I can push it all the way but I can’t make it touch as you can see there is a gap there that can’t be closed.  Here you try it (hand the tool to the prospect).  Notice too that there is resistance and if you let go after you have pushed it toward the large white area the piece moves back away on its own.   Did you notice the white plastic surrounding the inner black piece?

P:  Sure, what does that represent?

D:  In our lives we can try to be good which is what the white represents but inside our souls are black like that inner area.  You see the large white area represents God and His Holiness.  He is pure and unchanging.  God never moves but He calls us to Himself.  We can try to be good but the state of our inner self keeps us from ever reaching God on our own.  The blackness is all the bad things we have done in our lifetime and those things are contrary to the very nature of God.  It is impossible to have a relationship with God if we have unresolved sin staining our souls. That barrier you cannot see that also pushes us away from God will eventually cause eternal separation from God if allowed to remain.  Do you know how to fix that?

P: No, I don’t.  I always thought being good was good enough.

D:  No it isn’t enough.  Let me have the tool back for a minute.  There is only one way for a person to get to heaven.  God knew from the very beginning that there would have to be a provision for people who seek Him to gain forgiveness.  He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and be resurrected so that anyone who asks could receive forgiveness freely.  It is a great gift that was very costly but not for us.  All we have to do to remove the barrier is recognize the barrier exists and why and ask Jesus to forgive us through the blood He shed on the cross that washes away our sins.  When we turn our life over to Christ, we are forgiven and become a new creation, blameless and pure, under the work of the cross.  Without the sin in our life the barrier is gone and we can have the relationship with God.  Notice as I flip the piece that represents us over that when I let go it quickly moves toward the large white area on its own and there is no longer a gap separating the two.   Here, you pull it back and let go of it.  Does this make sense to you?

P:  Yes, I understand it.

D:  Would you like to become that new person too?

P:  Yes.

D:  Repeat this prayer after me then.  Dear God,  I realize that I have done things that haven’t pleased you.  I understand that I can’t have a close relationship with you until I have been forgiven.  I recognize that Jesus died on the cross for me and I ask that I be forgiven and washed clean by the blood of Your Son Who was crucified by men, raised from the dead by You, and even now sits at Your right in heaven.  Come into my life and make me a new person.  Write my name in Your Book of Life.  Thank you for sending Jesus to take my punishment and for my new life.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

D:  Congratulations!  The angels in heaven are rejoicing.  You can be rest assured that if you died this very minute that you would spend eternity in heaven.  Now that you have been forgiven you really need to spend time with other Christians.  I would like to extend an invitation to you to come to church with me.  I go to a fantastic church that I think you would like.  I realize it might be a little uncomfortable at first so I would love to meet you there prior to the service.  I can introduce you to some great people who will be glad to meet you.  If you don’t have a way then I can pick you up.  In order to continue your Christian walk it is important to know what to do by reading God’s instruction manual, the Bible.  If you don’t have one then I or the church I attend would be happy to get you one.  God has so much to tell you through His Word. Communicating with God daily is also important and this is done through prayer.  Prayer is just talking with God like we just did. Keep the tool, it is yours to remind you of what God did for you today through His So today.

Script #2 (Scripture Reference Method)

The Bible states in Romans 3:23,

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

That barrier you cannot see that also pushes us away from God will eventually cause eternal separation from God if allowed to remain. The Bible states this in Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death…”

Do you know how to fix that?

P: No, I don’t.  I always thought being good was good enough.

D:  No it isn’t enough.  Let me have the tool back for a minute. There is only one way for a person to get to heaven.  God knew from the very beginning that there would have to be a provision for people who seek Him to gain forgiveness.  He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and be resurrected so that anyone who asks could receive forgiveness freely.  John 3:16 states this:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

It is a great gift that was very costly but not for us.  Romans 6:23 goes on to tell us,

“…but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus Christ is the only provision for being saved from spiritual death. No good deeds on our part will ever gain us eternal life.  Acts 4:12 states,

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 explains,

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

All we have to do to remove the barrier is recognize the barrier exists and why and ask Jesus to forgive us through the blood He shed on the cross that washes away our sins.  When we turn our life over to Christ and confess our sins, we are forgiven and become a new creation, blameless and pure, under the work of the cross.  This is stated in 1 John 1:9,

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

and in Romans 10:9-10,

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

and finally Colossians 1 19-22 states:

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.”
